Seasonal Cleanup in Lake Mary

We clear out what the last season left behind and set your yard up for the next one. That means leaves and fallen limbs gone, shrubs cut back, beds weeded and edged, and loose debris hauled off before rain or wind can make a mess of it.

What a Seasonal Cleanup Is For

A seasonal cleanup is a reset. It is not weekly mowing. It is the bigger job you put off: the leaf piles, the hedges that got away from you, the beds full of weeds, the brown growth left after a cold snap.

Timing matters more than most people think. Here the oaks drop most of their leaves in late winter and early spring, not in fall. Then the summer rains push weeds and shrubs hard. Storm season follows. So we time each cleanup to what is coming next, not to the calendar on the wall.

Most of our customers book two or three a year. Some want just one big spring push. We will tell you which makes sense for your yard after we walk it.

What We Do on a Cleanup

Leaf and debris removal

We blow and rake leaves out of beds, off the lawn and out of corners along fences and the house. Oak leaves, catkins, pine needles and small fallen limbs all go.

Shrub and hedge cutback

We shape overgrown shrubs and hedges and pull them back off walls, walkways and window lines. We cut to keep the plant healthy, not just to make it short.

Bed weeding and edging

Weeds come out by the root where we can get them. Bed lines and lawn edges along walks and drives get a clean cut so the yard looks finished.

Freeze-damage cutback

After a cold snap, tropical plants and some shrubs turn brown. We wait until the frost risk has passed, then cut back the dead growth so new growth can come in clean.

Storm-prep pass

Before storm season we pick up loose limbs, clear low dead wood we can reach safely and point out anything bigger. Large trees go to our tree trimming and removal crew, and palms go to palm tree pruning and removal.

Haul-away

Every bag and branch leaves with us. You are not left with a pile at the curb waiting for pickup day.

Signs Your Yard Is Due for a Cleanup

Leaves are packed into the beds
A thick layer of wet leaves holds moisture against plant stems and smothers small plants. It also hides weeds until they are big.
Shrubs are touching the house
Branches against siding and screens hold moisture and give bugs an easy path in. They also scrape in the wind.
Brown growth hangs on after a cold snap
Dead leaves and stems on hibiscus, ixora and similar plants look rough and can slow new growth if left too long.
You can't see the bed edges
When grass creeps into beds and weeds creep into the lawn, the line between them is gone. That takes a full edging pass to bring back.
Storm season is weeks away
Loose limbs, dead branches and yard clutter can turn into flying debris. A cleanup before the wind picks up takes that off the table.

How a Cleanup Day Goes

  1. 1

    Free walkthrough first

We come out and walk the yard with you. We look at beds, shrubs, trees and lawn edges and ask what bugs you most. You get a clear scope and a free estimate before any work is booked.

  2. 2

We set the date around the weather

We pick a day that fits the season, like after the last freeze risk for cutback or before the summer rains get going.

  3. 3

The crew works the yard in order

We start high with shrubs and hedges, then clear beds, then edge, then blow off walks, drives and the lanai. Working top down means nothing gets dropped on a spot we already cleaned.

  4. 4

    Final walk and haul-off

Before we leave, we walk the yard again and load out every bag and branch. If we saw something worth your attention, like a sprinkler head that is broken or a dying shrub, we tell you.

What Moves the Price of a Cleanup

Every yard is different, so we price after we see it. The estimate is in writing and lists what we will do. If you want to trim the scope to fit your budget, we can show you what to keep and what can wait.

Size of the yard and number of beds
More bed area and more hedge length means more hours. A small front yard is a short job. A big lot with beds all the way around is not.
How long it has been
A yard cleaned last season goes fast. One that has gone a year or two needs heavier cutting and more weeding by hand.
Amount of debris
Heavy oak drop or a lot of storm limbs fills the truck fast. Haul-away volume is a real part of the cost.
Access
Tight side yards, gated areas and beds behind pool cages take longer to work and to carry debris out of.

Seasonal Cleanup Questions

How many cleanups a year do I need?
Most yards do well with two or three. A late winter or early spring cleanup after oak drop, one before storm season, and sometimes one in fall after the rainy months. We will suggest a schedule after the walkthrough, and one visit is fine if that is all you want.
Should I cut back plants that froze right away?
Usually no. The dead growth helps protect the plant if another cold night comes. We wait until the freeze risk has passed, then cut back to healthy wood.
Do you haul everything away?
Yes. Leaves, clippings, weeds and branches all leave on our truck. You do not need to bag anything or wait for yard waste pickup.
How is this different from property cleanup?
Seasonal cleanup is the regular reset for a yard that is mostly in order. Property cleanup is for a yard that has been left alone for a long time or needs a lot cleared out at once, like before a move or a sale. We can tell you which one fits when we walk it.
Can you add fresh mulch on the same visit?
Yes. Right after a cleanup is the best time, since the beds are weeded and edged. We handle that through our mulch and beds service and can schedule both together.
Do I need to be home?
Only for the walkthrough, so we can go over the yard with you. On cleanup day, as long as we can get through the gates, you do not need to be there.
