Tree Trimming and Removal in Lake Mary

We trim trees so they hold up when the wind picks up, and we take down the ones that can't be saved. We look at every limb that hangs over your home before we cut, and we tell you plainly what needs work now and what can wait.

Trim Before the Weather Turns

Most tree trouble starts months before it shows. A cracked limb or a crowded canopy looks fine on a calm day. Then a summer storm hits and the weak wood comes down on your roof, your fence or your car.

Our tree trimming takes out dead, crossing and overweight limbs and thins the crown so wind passes through instead of pushing against it. In Central Florida we like to finish that work in late winter or spring, before hurricane season starts in June. Trees are less stressed then, and you are not competing with everyone else for a crew after a storm.

When a tree is too far gone, we remove it in sections and haul it away. If you want the stump gone too, we handle that through our stump grinding service.

What the Work Includes

Deadwood removal
We cut out dead and dying limbs first. They are brittle and the first thing to fall in a gust.
Crown thinning
We open up dense canopies so wind and light can get through. We never strip a tree bare or top it, since that leaves weak regrowth.
Roof and structure clearance
We cut back limbs that rub your roof, hang over the driveway or sit close to the house. That also keeps leaves and moss off your shingles.
Laurel oak and live oak care
Laurel oaks are common here and tend to rot from the inside as they age. We check them closely and give you a straight answer on whether pruning will help or removal makes more sense.
Full tree removal
We take trees down piece by piece, lowering heavy sections with ropes when there is no room to drop them. Branches get chipped and logs hauled off.
Cleanup before we leave
We rake, blow off hard surfaces and pick up small debris from your lawn and beds. Your yard should look better than when we pulled in.

Signs Your Trees Need Attention

  • Limbs over the roof

Any branch hanging over your home is worth a look. A heavy one can do real damage when it breaks.

  • Dead or bare branches

Limbs with no leaves in the growing season, or bark peeling off, are dead wood. They will come down on their own sooner or later.

  • Mushrooms or soft spots at the base

Fungus near the trunk or roots often means rot inside. The tree can look healthy up top while the base gives out.

  • A new lean or cracks in the trunk

A tree that has started leaning, or soil that has heaved up on one side, needs to be checked soon. So does a split where two main trunks meet.

  • Heavy Spanish moss and thick canopy

Moss by itself won't kill a tree, but it adds weight and blocks light. Paired with a crowded crown, it makes limbs catch more wind.

What Moves the Price

Every tree is different, so we price the job after we see it. Your estimate breaks out each tree so you know what you are paying for. Here is what makes a job bigger or smaller.

Size and height

A tall oak with a wide crown takes more time, more rigging and more hauling than a small ornamental tree.

How close it sits to your home

Trees next to the roof, pool cage or power lines mean every piece has to be roped down. That is slower than open-yard work.

Condition of the wood

Rotten or hollow trees can't be climbed the usual way. They need extra care and sometimes extra equipment.

Access for equipment

Narrow side gates and fenced backyards mean more carrying by hand. Open access lets us bring the chipper close.

Stump and debris choices

Hauling everything costs more than leaving firewood stacked. Stump grinding is priced as its own line if you want it.

How a Job Runs

  1. 1

    Walk the yard with you

We come out, look at each tree with you and point out what we see. You get a free estimate that lists which trees and which limbs, so nothing is vague.

  2. 2

    Check permits

Many Central Florida cities require a permit to remove certain trees. We check what applies before any removal and tell you what we found.

  3. 3

    Set up and protect

On work day we park, rope off the drop zone and lay down boards where heavy pieces could rut your lawn. We plan cuts away from your home, fence and plants.

  4. 4

    Cut, lower and chip

Our crew climbs or works from the ground depending on the tree. Big limbs come down in sections, and brush goes straight into the chipper.

  5. 5

    Clean up and walk through

We clear the debris, then walk the yard with you again so you can see the finished work before we pack up.

Tree Trimming Questions

When is the best time to trim trees here?

Late winter through spring is our favorite window. Trees handle the cuts well and the work is done before storm season starts in June. We still trim year round when something can't wait.

Will you just cut the whole tree back short?

No. Topping a tree causes weak, fast sprouts that break easily later. We remove specific limbs and thin the crown so the tree keeps its natural shape and stays stronger.

Do I need a permit to take a tree down?

Sometimes. It depends on the city, the type of tree and its size. We look into it before removal and let you know where things stand.

Can you save a tree instead of removing it?

Often, yes. If pruning and clearing deadwood will make it safe, we will tell you that. If the trunk or roots are rotted, we will say so plainly and explain why removal is the safer call.

Is financing available for a large removal?

Yes. We offer financing up to $100,000 on 2–12-year terms, no prepayment penalties. We can go over it when we walk your yard.

Do you work outside Lake Mary?

We do. We trim and remove trees in Sanford, Longwood, Heathrow, Winter Springs and other towns nearby.
